Vancouver artists Justine A. Chambers and Deanna Peters present One + The Other at New Dance Horizons' House of Dance.
One + The Other takes place February 18th and 19th at 8pm and February 20th at 2pm.

Do you know of any newcomers to Canada who are interested in working in the Warehouse industry?
Regina Open Door Society’s Employment Connections program helps integrate newcomers with language and cultural barriers into the labour market. Through in-class instruction and volunteer work experience, participants develop industry-specific vocabulary; skills and knowledge that will help them find and keep employment in the Warehouse industry.
We have a class coming up from March 29th to May 21st, 2010. The class runs from 9am – 2pm, Monday through Friday. After the in-class instruction there is also a 60 hour work placement to help the students gain experience and learn on the job.
This course offers :
in-class instruction on industry-specific workplace culture & vocabulary, and computer skills
the opportunity to receive WHMIS, First Aid/CPR and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training and certifications
Canadian work experience through a 60-hour volunteer work experience placement arranged by and supported by a Job Coach
Learning job search and interview skills and develop a cover letter and resume
Successful candidates for this program will be available to attend class every day, be available to participate in the work experience portion of the program, be able to read and write English enough to pass the certifications (CLB of 4+), show commitment to working in the Warehouse industry and want to look for work after the program is complete.
Space for this upcoming course is limited to 10 people. To apply, please make an appointment with the Employment Assessor (352-3521) to register at any time. Assessments for this course will take place February 18 – March 19, 2010. Please see the attached poster for more information.

The good news for those companies and organization needing certifications for transportation of dangerous chemicals is that they can now take those transportation dangerous goods training online. They wont have to search for training centers offering this kind of courses as they can now do it at the comfort of their own homes.
